Bacteriemia por Acinetobacter en pacientes críticos: factores de riesgo y evolución clínica.

Resumen


Las infecciones por Acinetobacter se han vuelto prevalentes en el ámbito hospitalario, especialmente en las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI), y con incremento de su incidencia en los últimos años. El Surveillance and Control of Pathogens of Epidemic Importance (SCOPE), un estudio prospectivo de vigilancia de bacteriemia nosocomial, clasificó al Acinetobacter baumannii como la décima causa más frecuente de infección hospitalaria.
